Day 30 of 30: Mercy & Goodness

I wrote these words almost 5 years ago and I believe them even more today. (With a few needed edits.)  On Day 30 of 30 days of expressing gratitude, I’m deeply thankful God’s mercy is more than able to restore what we give to Him. And I’ve given Him all. Past, present, future. It’s all His. For His glory and my good.

God IS Good.

He is good beyond any definition we could come up with on our own.

His goodness overwhelms my heart today. (Five years ago and on this day.)

As I meditate on Him and His ways, words cannot express how I long to know and love Him more.

He has never let me down, not once. He has never lied to me, betrayed me, forgotten me, forsaken me, deceived me, been mean to me or used me. His thoughts and motives towards me are 100% pure 100% of the time. His faithfulness is sure and His love never ceases for me.

His beauty is beyond compare.

His eyes are flames of love that look right through me, sees everything and says, “I still want you.”

He disciplines me because of His love and He teaches me something new everyday when I choose to sit at His feet and open my ears to hear His Word.

His plans and purposes for me are perfect. He faithfully guides my every step and in the valley, He is with me…guiding me and comforting me.

There is none like Him in all the Earth and Heavens.

I long for the day to see Him face to face.

I long to embrace Him and look into His eyes and express my gratitude for all He has done for me and in me.

Just this morning, I was deeply moved once again over the salvation He has freely given me.

Words really aren’t enough.

I’m not the only one. His goodness is available to all.

He is merciful, patient and longs for all His creation to draw near.

He longs to show Himself to us up close and personal.

It changes everything!

I knew Him from a distance as a child but when I dared to draw near….. love won over and still wins over….every time.

Every time the enemy tries to whisper a lie to me…every time a thought of doubt or confusion tries to take root, every time betrayal stings or I’m lonely or misunderstood, every time the enemy tempts me with fear or lust or selfishness…. or failure….every time……

God is love and God wins every time.

In the end, all men will see. They will know.

What looks like success without Him will be exposed for the lie that it is. What looks like struggle with Him will be exposed for the truth that it is.

Work out (NOT FOR) your salvation with fear and trembling….struggle with Him now…..ask questions, seek counsel, wrestle with Him in the secret place. He invites us to bring it all to Him.

He’s not scared of us, our past, our questions, our failures……because He knows if we will trust Him, we will be winners too. We will find ourselves living a life of joy in the struggle, trust in the doubt, peace in the storm, healing in the wounding and faith in the fear.

“Seek God while he’s here to be found,
pray to him while he’s close at hand.
Let the wicked abandon their way of life
and the evil their way of thinking.
Let them come back to God, who is merciful,
come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.” Isaiah 55:6,7 (MSG)

Father, Give us courage to come to You just as we are. Transform our lives to be a reflection of Your beauty.

In Jesus’ Mighty & Holy Name, Amen.
